I have a thing for flowers, and it only seems to increase as the temperature drops. A bit of the outdoors inside is good for the soul, especially if the arrangement comes cheap. I picked up this vase at Ikea for $2.49 and the lovely Alstroemeria blooms were only $3.99 at Trader Joe's.
The rectangular shape is my go-to for arrangements. I find anything looks good plunked in there--a single calla lily, queen anne's lace, or 2 dozen roses all crowded beside each other. Usually, I check out what greenery is on offer. You'll be amazed how much you might grow to appreciate some simple leaves over the course of a week. Your wallet will be grateful too!
